
The Department of Nuclear Engineering & Engineering Physics (NEEP) within the University of Wisconsin–Madison College of Engineering is the home of two undergraduate degree programs (nuclear engineering, including an option in radiation sciences and a fusion plasma focus area; and engineering physics) and one graduate degree program (nuclear engineering and engineering physics). The department's faculty conducts research in diverse areas including nuclear systems engineering, nuclear and fusion materials, experimental plasma physics, plasma theory and computation, energy policy, and nuclear security. The graduate nuclear engineering program has consistently ranked in the top six nationally by the U.S. News and World Report.
