
The Minor in Dance Education allows students majoring in Art Education, Elementary Education, Elementary Education and Special Education, Physical Education or Special Education to obtain an additional teacher certification in Dance. Courses and field placements provide the knowledge, skills, and dispositions to teach dance specific classes and integrate dance in other classroom settings.
Students will acquire specialized knowledge specific to the field of dance education, allowing them to teach dance designated courses, run extra-curricular programs, and integrate dance in arts, elementary, physical education and special education classrooms.
How to Get in
Upon admission into their undergraduate teacher education degree program in the School of Education, students should meet immediately with the Dance Education Advisor to develop a course completion schedule. Eligible undergraduate teacher education degree programs include: Art Education, Elementary Education, Elementary Education and Special Education, Physical Education, and Special Education.
