The University of Wisconsin Law School's research-based degree program is strictly designed for those who have received a law degree from an American law school, or an equivalent degree from a university outside of the United States (e.g., LLB).

Admission to the SJD degree program is offered in the Fall only and admission is not rolling. Students are expected to complete the SJD degree in four years total.
